Olivia Godber
Research Associate, Animal Science
Olivia Godber is a Research Associate within the Nutrient Management Spear Program. Olivia is originally from the United Kingdom where she graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Animal Science from the University of Nottingham and has an M.Sc. in Meat Science and Technology and a Ph.D. in modeling the sustainability of livestock production systems, both from the University of Bristol. During this period, she also completed an internship at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Following her Ph.D., Olivia worked in the UK as a Sustainable Agriculture Consultant, working with global supply chains to provide insight and solutions to their food, feed and fiber sustainability challenges. Since joining Cornell University in 2020, her research has focused on working with New York dairy farmers to assess the available tools for measuring, monitoring and identifying opportunities for improvement of dairy farm efficiency, profitability, and environmental sustainability. A key interest is on the interaction of nutrient management practices with other drivers of dairy sustainability, including greenhouse gas emissions and biodiversity.
