Talk Saves Lives: An Introduction to Suicide Prevention

A program developed by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Talk Saves Lives provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, and what people can do in their communities to save lives. Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe.

Length of training: 45 minutes – 1 hour

Caring Communities

This program offers actionable insights on navigating conversations, addressing cultural considerations, and implementing practical support strategies across diverse settings for loss survivors.

About Caring Communities

Caring Communities: Guidance for Supporting Survivors of Suicide Loss is a one-hour presentation, available in-person or virtually, designed to provide participants with information, resources, and practical guidance on how to support someone who has experienced a recent loss to suicide. The program is suitable for workplaces and community groups who want to learn how to build more supportive environments for survivors of suicide loss.

Participants will:

  • Understand suicide as a complex health issue
  • Understand the impact of suicide on survivors of suicide loss
  • Learn practical ways to support suicide loss survivors in various settings
  • Become familiar with available resources for suicide loss survivors

 

Stress Management

Identifying Signs of Stress is a program developed by NY FarmNet staff. This presentation can be tailored to meet the specific needs of your group. It talks about what stress is, what stress looks like, and how you can manage it. Participants will learn risk factors, common language, how to develop coping skills and build resiliency in uncertain times.

Length of training: 60-90+ minutes

Farm Management

These programs are geared toward farmers, farm families, and agricultural professionals who provide planning services to farmers. Presentations are tailored to the specific needs of the audience.
