This spring the Pre-Veterinary Society hosted a Vet School Advisement panel, which included Jerrie Gavalchin, associate professor of animal science, as a guest speaker. By sharing this footage, the society would like to honor Gavalchin, who passed away on May 3, 2020.

The Pre-Veterinary Society is a student-run organization in the Department of Animal Science dedicated to offering its members new perspectives on the veterinary profession, and advice to optimize chances of gaining admission to veterinary school.

From left, William Crainer, member of the Pre-Veterinary Society, Blake Nguyen, DVM ’12, lecturer in Dairy Management and director of the Cornell Teaching Dairy, Lindsay Goodale, lecturer in the Department of Animal Science, and Gavalchin participate in the Vet School Advisement Panel on March 12, 2020.

Lindsay Glasner, undergraduate program coordinator in the Department of Animal Science, and Lindsay Sprague, research aid in the Department of Animal Science, contributed to the production of this video footage.

Additional reflections were published in the CALS Newsroom, and additional coverage appeared in the Cornell Chronicle.
