Planning to nominate your colleague for next year’s awards?

“A rare combination of strategist and practitioner.” “A natural encourager.” “Unfailingly generous with expertise and support.”

These are some of the phrases members of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences wrote when nominating colleagues for the 2025-26 CALS Faculty and Staff Awards, which recognize outstanding work in teaching, research, extension and service, as well as contributions to fostering a positive, welcoming environment for all.

Forty-nine members of the college were honored March 2 at the third annual awards celebration in the Statler Ballroom. Award winners received certificates, and a gallery of posters featuring photos, biographies and quotes from colleagues were displayed.

“CALS is more than a college—it’s a state of mind focused on service, determination and universal excellence. But the only way to bring that mindset into reality is through the amazing people who make the college what it is. I am so proud of the faculty and staff in CALS who continue to work tirelessly on our mission of making the world a better place than we found it,” said Benjamin Z. Houlton, the Ronald P. Lynch Dean.

Nominations for the 2026-27 CALS Faculty and Staff Awards will be accepted Sept. 1-Oct. 15, 2026, and the awards celebration will be held in spring 2027.

Congratulations to this year’s CALS Faculty and Staff Awardees:
