In September, Michelle Holeck (Administrative Assistant at CBFS) had the opportunity to attend the 60th Annual Meeting of the Organization of Biological Field Stations (OBFS) in Gothic, Colorado. This gathering brought together members from around the world to connect, share knowledge and experiences, and collaborate on strategies to sustain and grow our field stations and research programs.

The theme of the meeting was "Resilience and Adaptation, Fear and Triumph: A RAFT to Field Station Success in a Turbulent World." This guiding concept emphasized the challenges and opportunities facing field stations in today’s rapidly changing environment.

The week-long event featured a range of engaging activities, including a tour of the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, inspiring guest speakers, interactive workshops, poster sessions, lightning talks, and lively Q&A discussions. We also had the chance to explore the stunning Rocky Mountains through group hikes, which added a refreshing and inspiring dimension to the experience.
