Lee Humphreys, Co-PI, “The Sound of Silence: Mapping Immigrants' Preferences and Use of Public Space through Social Media toward an Inclusive Design and Management of the Urban Commons.” The $150,000 grant, funded by the Migrations Project, Mellon Foundation, supports a collaboration with landscape architects and information scientists to better incorporate the needs and cultures of immigrant communities into the design of a new park in east L.A.
Andrea Stevenson Won, Co-PI, “Piloting Virtual Reality Environments to Treat PTSD in Healthcare Workers Consequent to the COVID-19 Pandemic.” With this $75,000 grant, funded by a Multi-Investigator Seed Grant (an internal Cornell grant), Andrea and her colleagues will pilot personalized virtual reality experiences to address PTSD in health-care workers consequent to the Covid-19 pandemic

Yiwei Xu and Drew Margolin, January 2023, “Collective Information Seeking During a Health Crisis : Predictors of Google Trends During COVID-19,”Health Communication. The article approaches collective health-information seeking from a computational method by investigating patterns of Google Trends data in the United States during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. They analyzed factors that prompted a community’s curiosity and information that communities were most curious about using cross-sectional and time-series-based analyses.
