Colleagues at Cornell AgriTech describe Sarah Lincoln as a team player who is highly intelligent, competent, resourceful, respectful and dedicated.

Those attributes earned Lincoln the 2018 Cornell AgriTech Employee of the Year. Jan Nyrop, director of Cornell AgriTech, presented Lincoln with the award Nov. 3 at a banquet in front of more than 250 faculty, staff and students. 

“Having a successful organization means fostering a team of talented individuals who exhibit traits such as dedication, kindness, purpose and a willingness to go above and beyond their duties to achieve what will benefit the organization as a whole," said Nyrop. "Sarah Lincoln exemplifies the employee characteristics that help Cornell AgriTech thrive."

Lincoln has been an assistant to the chair of Food Science for more than eight years and an employee of Cornell AgriTech for more than 16 years.  Her responsibilities include managing billing and supplies, responding to Cornell Food Venture Center inquiries, expediting academic hiring and appointments, updating web pages and calendars and assisting with the management of food science facilities.

Olga Padilla-Zakour, Ph.D. ’91, professor and chair of the Department of Food Science, has worked closely with Lincoln over the years.  

“Sarah understands and anticipates what needs to be done to really make a positive impact to fulfill our mission to create future food and agriculture systems, to help growers and businesses thrive. I sincerely cannot think of anyone as deserving of this award than Sarah Lincoln,” said Padilla-Zakour.
