This afternoon in Ithaca, Cornell University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Dean Kathryn Boor and Mr. Jiwu Yang, General Manager of the Yili Innovation Center of Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group, signed a memorandum of understanding pledging to pursue collaborations in areas including dairy cow cultivation, dairy product research and development, and food product safety.

The new agreement pairs CALS, one of the world’s top-ranked agriculture programs, with Yili, the largest dairy producer with the fullest product lines in China – and one of the top 10 dairy producers in the world.

During the ceremony, Boor called Yili an “ideal partner” for CALS.

“By combining our resources, CALS and Yili can work together to develop cutting-edge research and technologies that improve production, processing and innovation of dairy products in China and the U.S.,” Boor said. “So I’m thrilled that we are able to partner with Yili and increase the scientific and technological research needed to create a thriving global agricultural economy and provide high-quality food products for the world.”
