Christian Shaw 14, CALS alumnus and organizer of the Plastic Tides initiative, has launched a new Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to shoot a short documentary of a planed paddle board expedition in the Sargasso Sea surrounding Bermuda. The expedition is dedicated to raising awareness about coastal plastics pollution. The Plastic Tides team will collect scientific data for the marine microplastics project and hopes to inspire others passionate about the marine environment to take a stand against water pollution.

Donations to the campaign will allow the team to buy needed equipment, travel to Bermuda, and hire the necessary technical support to make a professional production. Shaw and his fellow teammates also recently held a paddle board race on Cayuga Lake to raise awareness and funds for the expedition.
