Lindsay Ferlito completed her Master in Science with a focus on dairy cattle welfare and behavior from the University of British Columbia in 2011. In 2016, Lindsay joined the North Country Regional Agriculture Team (NCRAT) as one of the team’s regional dairy specialists. In this role, she serves dairy farmers of all types across the 6-county region, and her main responsibilities include:
Providing on-farm consultation and support to dairy farmers in the region
Conducting on-farm research that directly impacts local farmers
Providing in-person and online educational programing to farmers and industry members
Collaborating with other regional educators across the state and from campus to deliver more resources and assistance to local dairy farmers
Lindsay’s areas of interest include animal behavior and well-being, cow comfort, advocating for the dairy industry, and encouraging youth to get involved in the industry.
