The undergraduate minor in landscape studies is open to any undergraduate student at the university.
The minor enables students to study the dynamics of landscape and environmental topics within the department. Landscape studies address urgent challenges of coupled human and environmental systems at the threshold of profound environmental change. Exploring landscape as an eco-cultural artifact provides useful insights into a culture's relationship to nature.
Minor Admission Details
Minor Application
Undergraduate students interested in pursuing the minor must fill out the Minor Application form. Please contact the Department for this form.
The minor requires 15 credits in landscape architecture. You must receive a grade of "C" or higher in the courses for them to count towards the minor. The exceptions are landscape architecture courses that only offer the S/U grading option, such as the LA 4830 Landscape Lecture Series.
The courses can be any 15 credits taught by faculty in the Department of Landscape Architecture. Landscape architecture courses taught by other faculty (such as the History of Landscape Architecture) may also count.
