Placing an order: 

Submit your order at least 3 business days before the event using the form below.  Enter the quantity of each item you would like to purchase, then click on the Submit button at the bottom of the form.  Within 24 business hours you will receive an order confirmation from a Dairy staff member.  Invoices will be sent a few days prior to your event.  This form will NOT calculate the total amount due but the total will be included on the invoice.

Important notes:

  1. We do our best to keep the order form up to date; however, if a flavor you order is out of stock, we will notify you ASAP and will work with you to amend your order to make sure you have the amount of ice cream you need for your event.
  2. If you require a delivery, you will need to work directly with Red Runner to coordinate them picking up product from the Dairy and delivering to you.  https://fcs.cornell.edu/departments/transportation-delivery-services/delivery-services/courier-service
  3. It is your responsibility to keep the products cold and/or frozen between the delivery time and event start time.  
  4. For your convenience, we offer cooler rentals and dry ice.  Ice cream will NOT remain frozen with regular ice in a cooler, you must use dry ice. If Red Runner is delivering to you, be sure to schedule the return of the coolers, too.
  5. If you are ordering dry ice, plan on needing 2-3 lbs. per hour/per cooler, to keep ice cream frozen.
  6. 8oz cups and pints of ice cream will remain frozen for about 3-10 minutes at room temperature.
  7. 3-gallon tubs must be tempered for about 1-2 hours before the ice cream is soft enough to scoop. We recommend tempering the 3-gallon tubs in a refrigerator to ensure an even softening of the ice cream (i.e., if tempered at room temperature, the ice cream close to the outside of the tub will become soupy and the middle of the tub will still be solid).

Cooler Rental:

  • Coolers hold between 80-110 8oz cups of ice cream, 40-50 pints, or 1-2 three-gallon tubs.  
  • The rental fee is $25 per cooler, with a $50 deposit per cooler. The deposit will be removed from the invoice after the cooler is returned to the Cornell Dairy office the next business day after your event, and is in good, clean condition.
  • If you are scheduling Red Runner delivery, be sure to also schedule the return of the coolers.  Coolers MUST be returned to the Dairy Co-op room the business day after your event or the deposit fee of $50 per cooler will not be removed from the invoice.

Dry Ice:

  • To keep your ice cream frozen, plan on needing 2-3 lbs per hour/per cooler.
  • We cannot guarantee dry ice will be available if your order is placed less than 3 business days prior to your event.
  • The minimum purchase for dry ice is 5lbs ($25).  Additional lbs are $2.50 each.

Ice Cream - 3 Gallon Tub

Serves about 50 large scoops.  All 3-gallon tubs must be tempered before serving so it is easily scoopable.  We can temper for you, or you can do it yourself by putting the tub in the refrigerator about an hour before you plan to scoop.

3-Gallon Tub Cold Crock Rental:

  • Help keep your 3-gallon tubs at an appropriate serving temperature (32F) for 6-10 hours!  No ice is required.
  • The rental fee is $50 per crock, with a $100 deposit per crock. The deposit will be removed from the invoice after the crock is returned to the Cornell Dairy office the next business day after your event, and is in good, clean condition.
  • If you are scheduling Red Runner delivery, be sure to also schedule the return of the crocks.  Crocks MUST be returned to the Dairy Co-op room the business day after your event or the deposit fee of $100 per crock will not be removed from the invoice.
