Family & Community Development with PS: It Works! And the 2Gen

The Family & Community Development intern will support CCE-Tompkins Family & Community Development Program Area with PS: It Works! and the 2Gen project. PS: It Works! is a research-based, evidence-informed parenting education workshop series developed at CCE Tompkins. It is a communication skills workshop series for parents and their 6-10 year old children. 2026 will be the third year of a three-year pilot for 2Gen. The primary intended outcome is to reshape these curricula into well designed manuals ready to market.
Roles and responsibilities
In their role, the intern will:
- Support parenting educators in preparation and delivery of parenting education programs, playgroups, events.
- Clean up, edit and design of the PS: It Works! and 2Gen PS: It Works! curricula manuals.
- Develop a marketing and promotional plan for both programs.
Qualifications and previous coursework
- Coursework and or experience in marketing and design.
- Experience working with children.
- Interest in working together as part of a dynamic team.
Learning outcomes
- Increase awareness and understanding of the Cornell Cooperative Extension System, across the state and at CCE-Tompkins.
- Hands-on experience with families and children through parenting education workshops.
- Experience of development of workshop manuals
