The nine-element plan project was active in 2024.  This is a collaborative project led by the Central New York Regional Planning Board (CNYRPB) and involves watershed modeling by Todd Walter in Biological and Environmental Engineering, lake modeling by Dave Matthews, Susan O’Donnell and David O’Donnell at Upstate Freshwater Institute, and data support by Holeck at CBFS. The in-lake model is a two dimensional coupled hydrodynamics and biology model using the program CE-QUAL-W2 whereas the watershed model uses the Generalized Watershed Loading Function model. The project also involves outreach to the public, an advisory board, and public meetings.  Holeck and Rudstam are the main CBFS contacts, and Tony VanDeValk is involved as an advisory board member.
