Zooplankton as indicators Group (ZIG)

ZIG launched a call for existing zooplankton data through the GLEON network in January 2021. Since then, the group has grown to over 190 aquatic ecologists and is funded as a Working Group with ZooST and ZooSize at several Synthesis Centers (USGS Powell Center, Fort Collins, CO; Environmental Data Science Innovation & Inclusion Lab, Boulder, CO and Centre for the Synthesis and Analysis of Biodiversity, France). There are over 300 datasets in the fully harmonized and analysis-ready Zooplankton International Geospatial dataset representing all continents except Antarctica. ZIG submitted a data paper in 2025 and is starting analysis on several manuscripts using the data set.
