Department and Unit Efforts
Leaders of Access & Community Empowerment
Every academic department and many programs within CALS have appointed Leaders of Access & Community Empowerment (also called ACE Leaders) to ensure that inclusion and belonging are centered in all unit activities. ACE Leaders work closely with other unit leaders to review unit processes, to share resources and to ensure best practices as established by the CALS Office of Access & Community Empowerment.
The ACE Leaders regularly participate in workshops and learning opportunities around equity and inclusion. ACE Leaders work to develop strategic plans for diversity and inclusion for their departments, forming diversity committees and leading those in the process of developing goals and action plans with appropriate monitoring and impact evaluation.
The ACE Leaders support training in diversity, equity and inclusion and build a network for communication and collaboration across the college.
