Summary of my work

Currently, I have the following three projects which are related to my activity at Cornell: 1) Resolve the microbiological mechanisms for methane emissions fromChinese paddy fields; (2) Identify the key microbial processes to improve the efficiency of biogas production from agricultural wastes in anaerobic bioreactors; (3) Explore the possibility of paddy fields as sediment microbial fuel cell to produce electricity and reduce methane emissions.

Impacts in China

My projects related to resolving the microbiological mechanisms for methane emissions fromChinese paddy fields are mainly basic research, but are directly related to rural China, especially as they advance agriculture. The knowledge produced could be very useful for the development of practical technologies in the future.
