ElSharony is a former Water Resources Engineer and Hydrologist. She also holds two graduate degrees in International Relations and Environmental Governance. She previously worked on the political economy and the environmental history of semi-arid lands and water resources in the Egyptian desert frontiers.
Currently, ElSharony is thinking and writing about human-nature temporalities, critical logistics and infrastructure studies, and the political economy of maritime transportation and seaports in North-East Africa.
