Jingyue (Ellie) Duan

My research program integrates genomics and computational approaches to uncover key molecular mechanisms and regulatory factors that influence animal health, fertility, and production. We focus on identifying functional elements that coordinate gene expression during development and in response to environmental stressors. Our long-term goal is to advance the understanding of epigenetic regulation in animal health and disease while leveraging functional genomics tools to enhance fertility and overall well-being.

By combining expertise in animal biology, embryology, functional genomics, and bioinformatics, my lab addresses critical knowledge gaps in how intrinsic and extrinsic factors shape the genome and epigenome, particularly during early developmental reprogramming and under environmental stress conditions. Our current research is centered on three primary areas:

• The impact of heat stress on animal health and fertility
• Comparative genomics and evolutionary epigenetics
