Camilo Parada-Rojas

I lead the Field Crops Pathology Lab at Cornell University, located on the Ithaca Campus. I am a faculty member in the Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Section in the School of Integrative Plant Science. My research program focuses on linking pathogen population genomics, diagnostics, and on-farm trials to reduce disease losses in corn, soybean, small grains, and alfalfa across New York and the Northeast. We track pathogen movement, quantify fungicide resistance, and turn evidence into management recommendations. In line with the land-grant mission, we emphasize translational research and direct support for growers. 

Before coming to Cornell, I earned my M.S. and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology at NC State University. My graduate research focused on population genetics of vegetable diseases and responding to re-emerging fungal pathogens in sweet potato production. I then held a postdoctoral position at Oregon State University, studying plant pathogen genomics and bioinformatics.
