The inaugural New York State 4-H Livestock Bowl took place on Saturday, April 25, at Cornell University. The event marked an exciting new opportunity for youth across the state to showcase their knowledge and skills in livestock science.

To qualify for this year’s event, participants were required to complete an online written examination administered by their county 4-H educator. A total of 65 youth from across New York State took the qualifying test, with the top 20 invited to compete at the state level. Of those, 15 youth ultimately participated in the competition.

Teams were randomly assembled by members of the New York State 4-H Livestock Advisory Committee to encourage collaboration and teamwork among participants from different counties.
