Karl Czymmek has been named associate director of Cornell PRO-DAIRY. Czymmek also serves as a Dairy Climate Leadership specialist for PRO-DAIRY.
 
As associate director Czymmek will work with director Dr. Thomas Overton and PRO-DAIRY specialist Caroline Potter on overall program leadership, as well as interfacing with NY state agencies and other stakeholders. 
 
“I am delighted to announce that Karl Czymmek, Dairy Climate Leadership Specialist, has been appointed Associate Director of the PRO-DAIRY program," Overton said. "Karl has longstanding knowledge of the program and excellent relationships with New York State agencies and dairy industry partners.”
Czymmek has a strong background in production agriculture and training in agronomy and law. He served the NY dairy industry for over 20 years as a PRO-DAIRY nutrient management specialist, where he focused on on nutrient management, environmental, and other regulatory issues of importance to the NY dairy industry.
 
"I am excited to work with colleagues at Cornell and across NYS," Czymmek said, "to help dairy farmers be economically and environmentally sustainable in this time of change.”  
 

PRO-DAIRY is a nationally recognized extension and research leader serving dairy farms for more than 30 years.
