Carol Anelli, professor and associate chair of the Department of Entomology at Ohio State University, came to Cornell in October 2018 to talk about the accomplishments of Anna Botsford Comstock. Comstock graduated from Cornell in 1875 and later became a prolific scientific illustrator, naturalist and leader in the nature study movement. In 1913, she became Cornell’s first female member—indicative of her contributions as both an educator and a scientist.
