Wetlands contain the highest level of carbon sequestration efficiency compared to other types of green infrastructure.
Conversion Landscape: Hybrid Wetland Farm seeks to explore a range of methods to deal with climate change impacts for Long Island. The short-term strategy for the project will emphasize large areas of wetland farming that will be built with a careful selection of salt-tolerant plants and sensitive topographic engineering. Long-term strategies include converting wetland farming areas to sea-based farming. Inundated underwater structures for docks and buildings will be used to raise seafood with web and cage mechanisms.
