Kwesi Joseph is an Urban Gardens Specialist with Cornell Cooperative Extension’s, Harvest New York. He assists the community gardens in the five boroughs of New York City with any problems they may have with growing plants or raising animals. Kwesi is an avid composter and has been a Master Composter since 2016. His other specialties are soil remineralization, no-till gardening, and integrated pest management. In Kwesi’s garden, sweet alyssum, buckwheat, sorghum, sunflowers, and yarrow are grown to attract beneficial insects. Using beneficial nematodes is also a part of Kwesi’s IPM portfolio.
Kwesi has a B.S. is Geology from York College, The City University of New York, and a Master Composter Certificate from the Compost Project at Brooklyn Botanical Garden.
