Regional manure applicator training workshops

Cornell Cooperative Extension, NY Soil & Water Conservation Districts and PRO-DAIRY are offering a series of Manure Roadshow events. Cost and specific agendas vary by location, but all will provide lunch and include presentations on Manure Safety and the NYSDEC required Manure Applicator Training.

Topics

Programming has been tailored to meet local conditions and topics of interest, but all locations will focus on best management practices for managing and applying livestock manure on your farm. CCA credits will be available as well as certificates for CAFO employees who need to document required manure applicator training.  

A diverse group of experts will share important information for farmers, employees, custom manure applicators, and farm advisors to manage manure while keeping employees safe, protecting natural resources and maximizing farm productivity. 

 

 The workshops target individuals who are: 
  • Farm employees engaged in manure application
  • Farm owners and crop managers
  • Nutrient management planners, crop advisers, and other ag professionals
  • SWCD and CCE staff
  • Custom manure applicators
