Honors Thesis Advisor Mentoring Agreement

Thank you for mentoring a thesis candidate in the Biological Sciences Honors Program!

We could not have a successful program without you.

As an honors thesis advisor, we depend on you to play an active role in the thesis research and manuscript preparation of the candidate. While the day-to-day mentoring of the candidate may come from a graduate student, post-doc, or other senior lab member, we expect that you will work closely with your candidate during manuscript preparation in the coming months.

Please fill out the following mentoring agreement, which is required for students to participate in the biological sciences honors program.

  1. Serve as the supervisor for this student's honors research project.
  2. Provide feedback to the honors committee via a survey form in March.
  3. Review my students progress report during the fall semester.
  4. Review my student's thesis and provide feedback before the final thesis submission in either November (Dec. grads) OR April (May grads).
  5. Not be on sabbatical or other leave the semester of thesis submission.
  6. Serve as a reviewer for ONE other honors thesis.
  7. Cover the cost of printing my students poster for the honors poster session in May.

You do not need to get their permission. Suggestions only. We will reach out to them.
