Yolanda Gonzalez
Urban Agriculture Specialist, Cornell Cooperative Extension
Yolanda Gonzalez is an Urban Agricultural Specialist with the Harvest NY program. In this role, she provides technical assistance and educational programming for urban farmers and gardeners across the five boroughs of New York City. As an Urban Agriculture Specialist, Yolanda’s responsibilities include:
- Technical assistance on fruit and vegetable production
- Ongoing mushroom cultivation programming through the Community Mushroom Educator Training, in-person workshops, and online courses
- One-on-one food safety consulting
- Farm research trials on pH management and specialty crops
Yolanda serves as an officer for the newly formed National Young Farmers Coalition- NYC Chapter. As an officer of the NYC Chapter, Yolanda has an opportunity to advance policies that support the collective needs of the urban agriculture community in New York City.
As a native of Long Island, Yolanda farms a small diversified plot in Old Westbury, NY.
