Scott Cosseboom is a senior research associate in Plant Pathology and is stationed at the Hudson Valley Research Laboratory in Highland, NY. His focus is to improve disease control with sustainable decisions in specialty crops that are critical to New York’s agricultural industry. Specifically, he has focused on epidemiology and modeling of fungal pathogens and on chemical control and fungicide resistance management.
Prior to coming to Cornell, Scott was a graduate research associate and postdoctoral associate in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture at the University of Maryland. During this time, he was a Foundation for Food and Agricultural Research Fellow and a USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture Postdoctoral Fellow. His research involved uncovering the causal pathogens grapevine bunch rots and strawberry fruit rots in the Mid-Atlantic and developing and evaluating disease prediction models to reduce pesticide inputs in these cropping systems while maintaining disease control.
