SJ is the New York City Farm to School Coordinator on the Harvest NY team. In this role, she supports the increase in local procurement across schools and institutions in NYC. Responsibilities include:
-Technical assistance to institutions to support strategic bid development and local procurement initiatives
-Engaging local producers and processors through intentional outreach to expand agricultural market opportunities and product innovation
-Collaboration with community partners, government entities, and other supply chain stakeholders to increase transparency, participation, and resiliency in the local food system
SJ has a background in vegetable farming and social work. She is receiving her graduate degree from New York University and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont.
