Ryan comes to Cornell after serving as regional environment and natural resources educator for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Seneca, Cayuga, and Schuyler Counties. He developed and delivered programs on private forest land management, and other natural resources and environmental topics.
Colorado State University alumnus, Ryan earned both a B.S. Natural Resources Management (Minor, Rangeland Ecology) and M.S. Forest Sciences (Emphasis on Natural Resources Policy, Public Involvement and Collaboration) at Colorado’s land grant institution. He worked for the Colorado State Forest Service (Volunteer Forest Steward/Policy and External Affairs) and was recognized by his colleagues for Program Excellence. He worked at Finger Lakes Community College and was recently inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in recognition of his vision, leadership, and championships earned under his guidance for the Logging Sports Team.
Ryan’s volunteer efforts include appointments to the City of Fort Collins Natural Resources Advisory Board and Town of Canandaigua Planning Board.
