As an Appointments Coordinator for the School of Integrative Plant Science, I provide organizational support to hiring managers and employees in all SIPS sections, with a focus on management of non-academic, visitors, Postdoctoral Associates and student employee appointments. My responsibilities include managing multi-step processes required for hiring and extension of non-academic personnel (staff, temporary and student employees), visiting academic positions and Postdoctoral Associate appointments, preparation and revision of position descriptions in collaboration with supervisors, and also assist foreign nationals with obtaining J-1, H1-B or other visas required for appointment at Cornell.
I have a MS degree in Human Resources & Organizational Development and a professional background in Human Resources of more than 8 years in Chile and Spain which provides me with a broad perspective and understanding of HR processes.
