Nicole Tu-Maung Venker

Nicole is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environmental at Cornell University. As a human-environment geographer, her research examines the intersections of migration, rural livelihoods, and environmental access. She uses qualitative, spatial, and participatory methods to study human–nature relationships across rural landscapes in Southeast Asia and the United States. Nicole is a graduate affiliate of Cornell’s Southeast Asia Program and the Center for Conservation Social Sciences. She earned her M.S. in Environment and Resources from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and completed her B.S. in Environmental Science and Sustainability at Cornell (’17).
