Miles Stone

• Grand challenge: International Conservation

Miles grew up on Maui in Hawaii and greatly enjoys observing human/wildlife interactions. During his undergraduate studies at Lewis and Clark College Miles had the opportunity to participate in a field based agro-ecology program in Northern Thailand. This broadened his understanding of situated context in conservation projects and he remained passionate about projects that focus on active management strategies. This led Miles to the conservation policy of New Zealand where he traveled after undergrad and worked on invasive species removal efforts. Miles is coming to Cornell after a year of field technician work with Hawaii Land Trust and he's looking to expand his knowledge of international wildlife management efforts.
