Kaitlin Aasen is the Grower at the Seeley Mudd Greenhouse, bringing over a decade of experience in sustainable farming and horticultural practices. She holds degrees in Horticulture and Sustainable Farming and Food Systems, providing her with a strong foundation in both the science and practical applications of ecological agriculture.
Before her time at the Guterman Bioclimatic Lab on Cornell’s campus—where she spent over two years gaining experience in controlled environment agriculture and specialized crop production—Kaitlin developed strong technical horticulture skills and garden management expertise through hands-on work in diverse growing environments.
She is particularly passionate about permaculture, sustainable food production, and saffron cultivation, integrating these principles into her work to promote resilient and efficient growing systems. With a commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship, she continues to advance best practices in sustainable horticulture.
