Iveta Imre

Iveta is a former broadcast reporter who worked for the Croatian Public Television before coming to the US. She teaches classes in video storytelling and writing for digital media. Iveta believes in hands-on work as the best way to learn. In the classroom, she encourages students to take on challenging roles and work on impactful projects that interest them. Students are exposed to real-world experiences that help them become successful professionals with an impressive set of skills. Her pedagogy is centered around creating a safe learning environment where students can openly ask questions and explore the world of video storytelling and writing.

Her research focuses on international media development, media framing, and journalism education. Iveta has published articles in journals such as New Media & Society and presented her work at academic conferences such as the Broadcast Education Association and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. During her career, Iveta has conducted international workshops in Croatia as well as international program reviews, such as the International Center for Journalists, for the Knight Foundation. She is currently serving as a book editor for the Electronic News journal.
