Itzel works with the Nutrient Management Spear Program (NMSP), focusing on the Dairy Soil & Water Regeneration Project. Originally from El Salvador, she earned a degree in Environmental Science and Development from Zamorano University in Honduras, where her training was grounded in sustainable agriculture, soil health, and environmental sustainability.
In her current role, Itzel conducts field sampling related to greenhouse gas emissions, forage quality and soil health; supports laboratory work for chemical analyses; and is responsible for cleaning, processing and analyzing research data. Her work contributes to the development of high-quality datasets that support research on regenerative agricultural practices and their impacts on soil and water systems.
