Liz is an extension associate and regional farm business specialist with the Eastern New York Commercial Horticulture Program serving commercial growers in 17 counties in Eastern NY. She also has an appointment with the Cornell Ag workforce development program, providing training programs and extension outreach in human resource management on farms. She has been with Cornell Cooperative Extension since 2006 and has served in a variety of roles both in and outside of agricultural production, including dairy, livestock and field crops production, family and consumer science, watershed management and natural resource management and forestry for both CCE Ulster and CCE Sullivan. She joined the ENYCH team in 2016 and has served as a co-team leader for ENYCH since 2025. Higgins worked as an agriculture policy analyst in Washington, DC on two federal Farm Bills and has a deep knowledge of federal and state ag policy and programs.
