I have over ten years' experience of working with rural communities in Colombia to develop alternatives to extractivism. This has included supporting the creation of gender-sensitive spaces aimed at transforming patriarchal dynamics within grassroots environmental movements.
My research interests focus on environmental and gender justice, popular environmental education, community-based forest management, biodiversity and land use as strategies to tackle the climate crisis and strengthen community livelihoods.
