Edgar Vera Flores supports program coordination, event logistics, communications and administrative processes for departmental and extension initiatives.
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, he grew up in an educational environment that emphasized academics, culture and the arts. From an early age, he was involved in music, painting and theater, and he was also part of El Sistema, Venezuela’s youth orchestra system founded by Maestro José Antonio Abreu. There, he studied violin, later taught young children and supported international relations work connected to the Simón Bolívar Music Foundation.
Edgar earned a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from the Central University of Venezuela. Before joining Cornell, he lived and worked in Venezuela, Argentina and the United States in roles spanning program coordination, operations, communications and client service. Across those experiences, he developed a strong interest in people-centered, mission-driven work that connects education, community and opportunity.
At Cornell, Edgar is glad to contribute to Animal Science programs that support outreach, learning, and collaboration. Outside of work, he enjoys music, film and pop culture.
