Our regeneration and belowground research emphasizes the spatial and temporal dynamics of absorptive fine roots and symbiotic interactions across a range of soil conditions and moisture regimes, and how these processes influence plant–soil relationships, carbon dynamics, and ecosystem functioning under variable and extreme environmental conditions. Through collaborations with colleagues at local, regional, national, and international levels, he seeks to uncover the mechanisms underlying these complex interactions and their consequences for forest development and ecosystem functioning.
