Brandon G. Roy is a postdoctoral scholar in the lab of Jason Londo at Cornell Agritech. Currently, Roy is involved in a national collaborative project that is investigating grapevine-environment interactions on cold-hardy grapevine varieties, part of a National Science Foundation grant (Cornell Chronicle). He employs genetic, transcriptomic , ionomic, and phenotypic data to investigate sources of genetic improvement in grapevine, specifically for management in cold climate regions.
Roy completed his PhD in Plant-Microbe Biology in the lab of Marc Fuchs in March 2025. Roy investigated the host response to grapevine fanleaf virus infection through transcriptomic, proteomic, and root phenotyping approaches. His training bridges plant virology, transmission biology, and plant host response to pathogen infection.
