Becky joined Harvest NY in 2019 as the team’s first Farm to Institution Coordinator. Prior to this, she had been the Farm to School Coordinator for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County. In this role, she facilitated new dialogues between farmers, producers, distributors, and schools that enabled districts in Erie County to successfully expand local procurement. She also developed procurement resources that would be used by other coordinators statewide.
After joining Harvest NY, Becky worked alongside CCE colleagues, NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets, and NYS Department of Education to develop a database of NY grown, raised, and produced products that is used by school districts statewide. She currently focuses on working directly with farmers, producers, distributors, and institutions to increase institutional access to locally-grown agricultural products.
