Albeb received his undergraduate degree in Biology major in Microbiology at the University of the Philippines Los Baños and Masters degree in Marine Science specializing in Marine Biology at the University of the Philippines Diliman. He started his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry in 2020 at the University of Utah and finished in 2024. His dissertation involved the discovery and mechanisms of shipworm symbiont-derived antibiotics. Currently, he is working on discovering bioactive natural products regulated by cyclic-di-GMP in Streptomyces. When he’s not in the lab, you can usually find Albeb exploring nature, on the badminton court, or playing his guitar.
