Bio

Dr. Shari Brasner is a respected, board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist, who has dedicated more than three decades to advancing women’s healthcare in New York City. As a founding partner in her Manhattan private practice, Brasner Blumberg Amaru LLP, and an assistant clinical professor of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, she blends top-tier clinical expertise with a deeply compassionate philosophy. Being menopause-certified and having delivered thousands of babies, she treasures each delivery as unique while caring for parents across their entire life cycle.

As a uterine cancer survivor, Dr. Brasner also serves as a mentor for women undergoing gynecologic cancer treatment via Mount Sinai’s Woman to Woman program. A sought-after expert, she has appeared on news programs such as The View, the Today Show, and Cuomo on NewsNation. She is also proud of her participation on various Cornell webinars and events for the CALS Alumni Association, her class and the President’s Council of Cornell Women, as well as the Thank U, Cornell podcast.  She is currently an officer of the Class of ’87, a past member of the CALS Dean’s Advisory Council and a sustaining member of PCCW.

After graduating with distinction from CALS in 1987 with a B.S. in genetics and development, Dr. Brasner earned her medical degree from the NYU School of Medicine and completed her residency at Mount Sinai. She lives in Manhattan with her husband, Jeff Cohen ’87, and they have two children, twins Samantha ’18 and Zachary.
