Outstanding Alumni Award 2023: David Fisher '84

Bio

David Fisher was elected president of New York Farm Bureau at the 2016 State Annual Meeting and also represents the Northeastern state Farm Bureaus on the American Farm Bureau Federation Board of Directors and on the AFBF Executive Committee. David is a former president of St. Lawrence County Farm Bureau. 

David and his family operate Mapleview Dairy in Madrid, N.Y. where they have farmed for four generations. He returned to the farm after graduating from Cornell University in 1984 with a degree in Animal Science. Off the farm, Fisher is a Madrid Town Councilman. He is also on the Ag and Farmland Protection Board and previously served on the Soil and Water Conservation District Board for St. Lawrence County. In addition, Fisher serves on the Cornell University College of Ag & Life Science Advisory Committee, animal science advisory committee and represented New York Farm Bureau on the LEAD NY Board of Directors. He is a class 6 alumnus of the LEAD NY program.
