Professor James G. Booth received his undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Leeds (England)in 1981. He received a masters degree, and a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of Kentucky in 1984, and 1987 respectively. After receiving his Ph.D. Professor Booth accepted a position in the Department of Statistics at the University of Florida. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1993, and to Full Professor in 2000. During his tenure at the University of Florida he served as Director of Graduate Studies, and as Associate Chair for the Department of Statistics. In 2004 Professor Booth accepted a position in the Department of Biological Statistics and Computational Biology at Cornell.
