The second in our series of Adaptive Approaches to Diversifying Extension webinars is open to all CALS faculty. Speakers include Chelsea Specht and Eduardo Gonzalez, Jr.
Chelsea Specht is the Associate Dean for Diversity & Inclusion and Barbara McClintock Professor of Plant Biology. Chelsea will present an overview of the efforts and activities within CALS to enhance diversity and inclusion for students, faculty, and the employee community. New York State represents a rich talent pool of individuals from urban and rural communities--learn how CALS plays an important role in investing in our community and building an inclusive environment that provides access to opportunities supporting ‘any person, any study’.
Eduardo González, Jr. is the Diversity Specialist for Cornell Cooperative Extension. Eduardo will share about ongoing activities and initiatives to support state-wide efforts in diversity and inclusion that strengthen Extension's public value. With changing demographics across the state, technological advancements in communication, and greater opportunities to link urban and rural economies, Extension has a unique position in the 21st century to bring evidence-based information to benefit the greatest number of public stakeholders imaginable.
