10 - 11:30 a.m. EDT
Come for all or part!
In these days of strife and wicked problems it is ever more important that we connect with, and learn from, one another. Join leaders in the Learning Cities/Localities movement as they reflect on the origins of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities and share examples of cities and localities working to create communities that are green & healthy, equitable & inclusive places of good work and entrepreneurism.
Featured Speakers
- Arne Carlsen, Director Emeritus, UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, International Adult Education Hall of Fame Class of 2017, and co-developer of the Global Network of Learning Cities. “Learning Cities: Personal Reflections on a Big Idea”
- Denis Barrett, Cork Learning City Co-ordinator and co-founder of the Irish Network of Learning Cities and the European-North American Network of Learning Cities. “Making Connections: Local and Global”
Program includes opportunities for discussion among participants and updates from Lowell City of Learning and anyone active in advancing the Learning Cities movement. All are most welcomed.
