Join us for a talk by Adriana Ribon, Ph.D, Professor, Soil Sciences, State University of Goiás (UEG), Palmeiras de Goiás, Brazil. She is the creator of the Fun Soil Profiles. She will talk about how she uses art to communicate the importance of soil science to a wide range of audiences throughout Brazil. She will also discuss the history of soil in art in a wide range of disciplines including literature, poetry, painting and more.
Ribon is responsible for the disciplines of pedology and soil physics at the State University of Goiás. She coordinates the Extension and Research Project on Soil Education for All. She is the Deputy Director of Division 4 of the Brazilian Soil Science Society: Soil, Environment and Society, and is also the deputy coordinator of Commission 4.1: Soil Education and Public Perception of Soil.
Ribon’s presentation will be in Portuguese with live real-time translator.
